NSA ASM Student Award

The Nutrition Society of Australia ASM Student Awards acknowledges the best presentations by student NSA members at the Annual Scientific Meeting. Cash prizes are awarded for both oral and poster presentations. Students are eligible for these prizes at any time during their studies, however, they can only win one oral and one poster prize during their student period.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for these awards, students must:

  • be a financial member of NSA, or have submitted an application to join NSA
  • submit an abstract (formatted strictly according to the instructions which are provided on the conference website when abstracts open) to the conference organisers
  • register as a delegate for the ASM (online registration usually commences in August)
  • complete their submission by the advertised deadline.

Students may also apply for an ASM travel grant to help cover the costs of travelling to the ASM. The online submission for abstracts, prizes and travel grants for the ASM usually opens in June.

New members must apply for student membership before 31 July (different dates may apply for virtual conferences) and pay any outstanding dues before the conference to be eligible for students awards at the conference (Annual Scientific Meeting) for that financial year.
